It sure was a lot of info. But still we didn't see the exact error message.
Without that, we can only guess.

Or use the docs, and edit /etc/sysconfig/harddiskhd?, where ?=where your
CD drive is (mine is, for example, hdc). Only for ATAPI drives, of course.
