no, vidix doesn't work with nvidia cards...
the vidix system is mostly used for ati cards..
you should use xv (=xvideo) output...
i've heard that the default nvidia driver in XFree ( "nv" ) supports
xvideo on geforce boards,
but i recommend you to use the drivers from www.nvidia.com
