And, of course, this patch doesn't change vf_expand behavior when pixels
are square.  I can't imagine anyone would rely on the current behavior
in vf_expand for non-square pixels.

The whole point of providing an aspect ratio is so that you have
deterministic results regardless of the video's dimensions.  So I
(obviously) agree with Rich and think this should be the default
behavior.
