[MPlayer-users] "Could not find matching colorspace" for mf://

I'm assembly a set of png images into a movie and I have some questions about colorspace 
and SwScaler (see the complete log below).

The relevant lines are:
VDec: vo config request - 512 x 512 (preferred csp: BGR 24-bit)
Could not find matching colorspace - retrying with -vf scale...
Opening video filter: [scale]
VDec: using BGR 24-bit as output csp (no 1)
Movie-Aspect is undefined - no prescaling applied.
SwScaler: using unscaled BGR 24-bit -> Planar YV12 special converter

What does it means "Could not find matching colorspace - retrying with -vf scale..."?
Is it something neutral or it affects quality and/or conversion speed?
Is it something that I can avoid with appropriate choice of PNG image characteristics?
