Greetings:
This is probably really obvious but I can't find anything in
the archives. How do I get MEncoder to either encode audio from DVDs
as ordinary 2-channel sterio or 5.1?
	The ordinary:
  mencoder dvd://1 -ovc frameno -oac mp3lame -lameopts vbr=3 \
    -o frameno.avi
and desperate:
  mencoder dvd://1 -channels 6 -ovc frameno -oac mp3lame \
    -lameopts vbr=3 -o frameno.avi
do not work for me at all. The first gives me what sounds like the
rear two channels of the 5.1 audio as front-left and -right. The
second craps out with 'Too many audio packets in the buffer: (4096 in
8257536 bytes).'
I'm using MEncoder 1.0pre2-3.3.2 from Debian. The DVDs I'm
using are 'Matrix Reloaded' and 'Spirited Away'. Mplayer has no
problems playing the DVDs, and with '-channels 6' the audio as well.
