[MPlayer-users] 16:9 dvd playback problems

Hi,

using MPlayer 1.0pre3 I have problems with some dvd's with an aspect of 16:9.

My system is a AMD Athlon 2000+, 512 MB RAM, Nvidia gforce 2 MX400, LG 
DVD-ROM, Slackware 9.1, Linux 2.4.23 with ck-patch (kernel preemption and 
low*latency scheduling), dma for dvd is enabled, mttr's look good, es1371 
sound, xv video output, xfree86 nvidia driver (not the closed source one).

Well, with these 16:9 dvd's every maybe 5-10 minutes playback (both audio and 
video) hangs for maybe 0.5 - 2.0 seconds.
I didn't find any options for playback which change this behaviour.

Any ideas what I could do ? If possible without the -cache option ?
