[MPlayer-users] Howto Patch LibSDL for Ascii Color

I have to try to patch libSDL, but it seems to not work.
I have downloaded libsdl1.2.6.tar.gz
cd libsdl1.2.6
cp ../patch-SDL-1.2.6-deb-caca.diff
patch -p1 < patch-SDL-1.2.6-deb-caca.diff
./configure --enable-video-caca
make && make install as root
I have set SDL_VIDEODRIVER with export SDL_VIDEODRIVER='caca mplayer'
then I have recompiled Mplayer but when I launch a video
mplayer didn't find it :
