[MPlayer-users] volume default other than 100%

hi folks,

mplayer normally starts playing video at maximum volume. i prefer much
quieter, to be increased when i see fit. i cannot find a way to start at 50%
or 20% of volume without limiting myself to that level (like with -af
volume). any ideas?
