Yes from RPM, did not see a lame-devel RPM. Also, compiling LAME from
cvs was my first choice, but I cannot get *it* to compile at all, and
I'm not sure why it's breaking, the error is really odd.
I will try to re-find a lame-devel RPM but for now, the stuff I've got
is:
/usr/lib/libmp3lame.so.0
/usr/lib/libmp3lame.so.0.0.0
/usr/bin/lame

No it never seems to, but as you pointed out, there may be a lame-devel
rpm I need to find. I've been looking, just to point it out..but before
filling a bug report out for my not having the proper files, I think
it's best to find user experience, which would be this list and IRC.

Then, please ask questions if I've missed something you'd like to know.
How do I know what to tell you, aside from the fact mencoder won't work
with libmp3lame even though, perceptibly, it's installed.
I'll see if there are dev headers/etc that I'm missing, it does sound
like that should be it, but as I've not seen a lame-devel rpm from
rpmfind or fresrpms, I'm not sure where to get it since I can't seem to
get Lame CVS to compile..
