Mencoder supports ffmpeg only in video encoding (libavcodec), so you have to encode sound directly with ffmpeg. Do not use the 0.4.5 version of ffmpeg! Download the last CVS instead.

Ahhh thanks man, I use libavcodec (yes cvs :)) to encode the video but I
didn't know it could do ac3 also. But how do I use it with mencoder? Which
option do I use?
