Currently Im ripping a DVD with DVDrip (transcode frontend) then using
its bitrate calculator...and since the first pass doesnt need sound,
hense the -nosound..i was hoping for something like a quick scan of the
video (during the first pass)..video is alot more variable than the
sound (in size and quality). it would be nice to ditch DVDrip altogether
and use mencoder to calculate a suitable bitrate.
