No, I can't take it anymore! I should say that I also need to buy a
video card with a TVout and about the same functionality, but wasn't
quite sure whether this mail.list is the appropriate one.
I heard from one of my friends who is using GF2MX200(asus v7100 or
something like that) and it seems to have more or less good xvideo and
opengl support(he didn't have any troubles with that) and it is
probably something like GF 256(oh, I think I'm awfully bad at all
this) but he complained about the quality of the image on resolutions
higher than 1024x768(my current Riva128 seems to have troubles with
that, too even on 1024x768(like curved left upper corner and other
stuff) and he as a former owner of RivaTNT2 says that he had problems
similar to mine.
Yes, nvidia cards do not look good here, but it seems that others
don't always do a lot better - the only opinion I always hear about
radeon is that it is always slower than similar GF and has buggy
drivers. Maybe someone can provide me with another one? :)
So, it looks like voodoo5 would be not too bad to have - that's
probably the only one I haven't really heard complaints of(doesn't
mean anything, I know). Matrox ones with TVout are probably too slow.
Oh, I think this is terrible - it is so difficult to find the right
video card compared to, say, sound card...
