[MPlayer-users] Skipping when encoding vobs..

cat *vob | nice -+19 mencoder -sws 2 -o test3.avi -ss 3960 -ovc lavc
-lavcopts
vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=1420:vhq:vpass=2:vqmin=1:vqmax=31:keyint=40 -npp
ci -ofps 29 -

which encodes the file from the start still, i've used both -ss and -sb
with the same result...basically i want mencoder to skip the first 3960
frames, then encode from there onwards..
-ss worked fine on an mpeg1 file, but a list of vobs?
