Hi mplayer developers and users!
I have an G3 600 MHz powerpc ibook2, debian aka woody, and the latest cvs of
mplayer(CVS-020520-22:11-2.95.4).
My problem is, I have to encode my files with libavcodec, cause divx4(5)linux
exist only for x86 cpu's, I think, but this doesn't work on my system.
On my Pentium II 333 MHz, I can encode mpg files with
mencoder -o newvideo.avi -lavcopts vcodec=msmpeg4 -nosound videofile.mpg
successfully:
==========================================================================
Opening Video Decoder: [ffmpeg] FFmpeg's libavcodec codec family
libavcodec: CPU flags: mmx
Detected video codec: [ffdivx] drv:5 prio:0 (FFmpeg DivX ;-) (MS MPEG-4 v3))

But on my powerpc, mencoder announced these lines:
MEncoder CVS-020520-22:11-2.95.4 (C) 2000-2002 Arpad Gereoffy (see DOCS!)

It encodes the file, but if I want play the encoded file, mplayer reports that
no video codec for this format exist.
Does somebody encoded files with mencoder successfully on ppc's?
Is there another way to encode files(without libavcodec)?
And does divx4(5)linux only exist for x86 cpu's?
Thanks in advance for any help! I hope you can help me.
Georg
