[MPlayer-users] Video out device incompatible with DivX4 codec

I tried to encode a movie in DivX4 but mencoder tells me that the video out 
device is incompatible with the DivX4 codec then falls back to mpeg2.  Why ?

The command line was :

mencoder -dvd 2 -oac copy -o movie.avi -divx4opts br=1000 -pass 1
