[MPlayer-users] mplayer and playlists

i am using mplayer to play mpeg2 files thru a hollywood + card .
is there any way to keep the output device open between files?
at the moment it opens /dev/em8300* and uninitialises it after every clip
which introduces some nasty filickers etc.

i noticed that the device stays open when i use the loop option when playing
a single file, i want to do the same thing just with different files instead
of a loop.

any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
