[MPlayer-dev-eng] MPlayer and external LCD (et cetera)?

Hello!

I've build myself external LCD connected via mcu and rs232
to the PC. Since there are more things connected to this
mcu (like IR-receiver) I use my own protocol to communicate
with the PC.

Now, I'd like to be able to display on the LCD what
mplayer now does with OSD. I've looked thought
mplayer's manpage, but found nothing. So would
it be possible to add an option that would feed
information like fileposition, or total time
(and maybe movie info, or even the subtitles)
to an external program (either popening it or using
fifo's/sockets)?

What would be the best thing to do this? Where can I start
hacking?
