gl2 can use multiple textures to display the image (in case your GPU
doesn't support large textures) and had aspect and OSD support since
quite a long time.
But it is a lot of code and quite a mess, so when I wanted to add some
new features I added them to gl - so at the moment gl2 is only supposed
to be used when gl doesn't work (old hardware or windows).
