i like a lot this patch, because i have ever to guess the state of framedrop :(
IMHO it could be very good maybe only to notify it when framdrop is off, so not to slow down video and sync.
it's there a way to tell framderop state on command line output too?
so you don't fuckup video with osd when you are slow, but notify it anyway to the user.
