I agree ;)

but as a final note I'd like to say that you should move the my:ing of
the variables to outside the loop, now perl has to create and destroy
variables like crazy as they are declared in the inner scoop, that
should make it a bit faster. But it'll still be horribly slow, since it
does 100 regexp-transformations on each word it finds :)
