[MPlayer-dev-eng] Makefile insufficiency

When a file in subdirectory that produces a static library (i.e.
libmpcodecs, libavcodec, Gui) changes make does not reflect this in
recent build. In effect one has to make a make clean all to rebuild
recent mplayer. IMHO it should remake these libraries. Any ideas on how
to acomplish this?
I was thinking of preparing file(s) with autogenerated dependencies
(based on Makefile or better yet .depend) and include'ing it. It can be
as simple as appending a directory name to every filename in appropriate
.depend and appending this .depend to central .depend. Only problem I
see with this is the outcome file dependency - it will probably have to
be added in sublevel Makefile to make sure appropriate .o files are
mentioned as putting all will have the effect of trying to remake it
every time make is run (if the file was disabled by configure)
