my card support only 2 channels ;) 

now:
AO: [plugin] 44100Hz Stereo Signed 16-bit (Little-Endian)
pl_surround: init input rate=44100, channels=2
pl_surround: 15msec surround delay, rate 44100 - buffer is 661 samples
ao2: 44100 Hz  4 chans  Signed 16-bit (Little-Endian)
audio_setup: sample format: Signed 16-bit (Little-Endian) (requested:
Signed 16-bit (Little-Endian))
audio_setup: Failed to set audio device to 4 channels
couldn't open/init audio device -> NOSOUND


and all clear :)
